“Towards the Sun” is a celebration of rebirth, vital energy, and the sacred bond between nature and the spirit world. This piece draws inspiration from ancient Andean cosmology, where the sun (Inti) is revered not only as a life-giver but also as a divine guide that governs the cycles of time, harvest, and human transformation.

At the center of the composition, a hummingbird—a symbol of lightness, agility, and spiritual messengers in the Andes—flies toward a glowing sphere that represents the sun. The hummingbird’s journey is not merely physical; it is a metaphor for the soul’s path toward enlightenment, harmony, and purpose. Its flight cuts across a dreamlike landscape filled with symbolic elements: spirals representing life cycles, stylized flora that evokes growth and fertility, and vibrant patterns inspired by pre-Columbian iconography.

The chromatic transition—from cool greens and blues to fiery reds and yellows—mirrors the Andean dawn, when the first rays of the sun awaken the land and renew ancestral energies. This visual language, woven entirely by hand, carries the essence of millenary traditions passed down through generations of master weavers.

Each thread is infused with meaning, and every form speaks of a worldview in which the natural and the spiritual are not separate, but woven into the same cosmic fabric. In this sense, “Towards the Sun” is more than a tapestry—it is a visual prayer, a tribute to the power of light, life, and movement toward a higher purpose.
